The Festival of Blossoms

Flower Festival

The Pairing

Song, by Jesse Teller

The Reasoning

Central to the story of Song is a flower festival, and Rayph Ivoryfist’s attempts to prevent it from being targeted by a terrorist group. The story behind the festival was one of my favorite bits of worldbuilding in the whole tale, and so I thought it would be nice to come up with a drink to represent this charming tradition in an otherwise dark and violent story. I’m very pleased with how this one turned out.

The Cocktail

You will need:

  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Paring or channel knife
  • Martini glass
  • 5-6 Ice Cubes
  • Chamomile Simple Syrup (recipe here, takes 20 minutes)
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 drops lavender bitters
  • 2 oz gin

Take your channel/paring knife and cut a twist from your lemon peel. Set aside, and cut lemon in half. Squeeze 1 tbsp lemon juice.

Add ice to cocktail shaker, followed by 2 oz chamomile syrup, 2 oz gin, lavender bitters and lemon juice. Shake vigorously and strain into martini glass. Garnish with lemon twist. Enjoy, and don’t forget to stop and smell the roses. 🙂
